The Blue Gascony Basset, known officially as the Basset Bleu de Gascogne, is a French scenthound with a distinctive blue-ticked coat and a melodious voice. This breed is a smaller version of the Grand Bleu de Gascogne, developed to hunt small game in packs while being slower and easier to follow on foot. With its long ears, soulful eyes, and sturdy body, it carries an air of ancient nobility, yet its temperament is often described as gentle and even-tempered.
